Chinese herbal therapy

In Chinese herbal therapy, mainly herbal medicinal herbs (roots, rhizomes, bark, flowers and leaves) are used.
In addition, mineral substances and components of animal origin are used. For ethical reasons, Mr. May does not prescribe the latter substances (of animal origin) per se in his practice in the Gängeviertel.

Chinese herbal therapy is often combined with acupuncture.

In our practice in Gängeviertel we use Chinese medicinal therapy, among other things, in the treatment of

• Nervous and sleep disorders
• Psychological and psychosomatic complaints
• States of exhaustion
• Neurological disorders
• Gynecological and hormonal complaints
• Disorders of the gastrointestinal tract
• Respiratory diseases
• Allergic symptoms

Aside from that:

• Health prevention
• Strengthening the immune system

Please discuss with our qualified CM therapists whether Chinese medicinal therapy could be a worthwhile treatment approach for your individual complaints.

(T)CM therapist Mr. May in the practice in Gängevertel will be happy to advise you.

backgrounds

Along with acupuncture, Chinese herbal therapy is the most important therapeutic pillar of Chinese medicine.

Similar to acupuncture, this method has been empirically researched, documented and developed for over 3,000 years.

In the theory of recipes, there are over 650 classic recipes, each consisting of about two to 25 medicinal herbs systematically combined with one another.

In addition to the very detailed and precise classical Chinese monographs, extensive pharmacological drug monographs are now available for about 520 of the drugs in regular use.

The selection of the drug formulation indicated for you and your individual symptoms is made according to a carefully made Chinese medical diagnosis.

In addition, the selected recipe may be modified individually: Under certain circumstances, individual medicinal herbs may be removed from the recipe or additional ones may be added.

According to empirical findings and the resulting classical teaching, it is often able to catalyze the effects of acupuncture.

Chinese herbal therapy is used for a wide range of illnesses: in addition to infectious and neurological illnesses, there are hormonal, gastrointestinal, allergic, gynecological, vegetative and psychological/psychosomatic indications.

There is now a large amount of research, some of it of high quality, into the effects of Chinese herbal therapy on a variety of illnesses.

For legal reasons, a list of diseases for which Chinese herbal therapy is indicated cannot be provided here.
