SARS-CoV-2/ CoViD-19

Update March 2023: We ask you to continue wearing an ffp2 mask during your stay in the clinic. Thank you.

Dear patients,

A note in advance: From 27 April 2020 on, it is obligatory in Hamburg to wear a mouth and nose mask in shops and on public transport. Please also bring a suitable mask with you when you visit our clinic.

In order to ensure the greatest possible degree of safety for our patients and therapists even during the current pandemic, we have integrated additional hygiene measures into our clinic procedures that go beyond the basic hygiene recommended by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI). Thus, door handles, taps and other relevant surfaces are regularly disinfected with virucidal preparations. In principle, all appointments are timed so generously that no two patients need to be in close proximity to each other. In addition, we carry out a daily risk analysis, on the basis of which we may postpone appointments with patients who could belong to a risk group.

Your cooperation is of great importance. Please check whether you have had contact with a person who is demonstrably infected or a person suspected of being infected. Even if you suffer from typical cold-like or flu-like symptoms, please let us know by telephone before your appointment. Please understand that in this case we have to postpone the appointment by 14 days. In urgent cases, Mr. May also carries out home visits.

In principle, however, the following applies: Despite all measures taken, we cannot completely rule out the possibility of a 'coronavirus' infection in our clinic at any time.

Therefore, we ask patients who belong to a risk group (patients 60+, pre-existing respiratory or cardiovascular diseases, weakened immune system, etc.) to carefully consider whether treatment or travel to the clinic by public transport is really necessary at this time.

Many thanks for your cooperation!

A healthy immune system is significant and important in many ways. The practice of Chinese medicine often aims to strengthen the patient's immune system.

However, it is unfortunately completely unclear whether and to what extent acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) might be able to strengthen the immune system in such a way that the risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection or the development of disease symptoms/ serious symptoms would be reduced. Even if some TCM clinic homepages contain corresponding explanations (adverts), and COVID-19 patients in Chinese hospitals are often treated with Chinese herbal compounds, you will not find any such speculations on this homepage.

Furthermore, in regards of the currently massively spreading misinformation and conspiracy 'theories', we ask you to continuously take the danger posed by SARS-CoV-2 seriously and to obtain information exclusively from reputable sources.

These include the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the World Health Organization WHO and the German Network for Evidence-Based Medicine.

So far, take good care of yourself and each other.

Your *Praxis im Gaengeviertel*
